After reviewing my initial interview with the entrepreneur who is also a good family friend, I can have more understanding in his responses. At first, those responses to me were very abstract since I really didn't have much to compare it to, but I can now see and compare his responses specifically.
I couldn't record this interview, since it wasn't given in person but here are the questions and responses:
- Was there ever a time when creating a venture, you started realizing that this might not a be profitable and successful idea?
- "This is more common than you think, and it's okay! It's important to be able to grow from these experiences, and be able to accept to move on from the business idea despite how much work ethic and time you put into it trying to make it work."
- Is there ever time you stopped trying to create new venture ideas because of a failure?
- "I once tried to start a physical therapy center in South Florida due to the high demand. After reviewing the higher age demographics, it seemed it would be a very smart venture. However, living in New York it deemed very difficult to launch a business while not being able to be hands on in its creation. I ultimately had to let it go after some time, but I have since continued to launch new ventures and those have been working out very well."
- What do you think encompasses the criteria of being a "successful entrepreneur"?
- "Well, as we're on topic with unsuccessful scenarios- I think that having failures of some sort can motivate, thrive, or cause a successful entrepreneur to rise up and prove that they can overcome obstacles. Having the ability to persevere past adversity is a very important quality of a "successful entrepreneur".
From an aspiring entrepreneurs standpoint, I feel that I've grown a lot from taking this courses and being exposed to new experiences. I've certainly been pushed out of my comfort zone on multiple occasion and it has encouraged me to think outside-the-box. I felt much comfortable comfortable asking particular, those of which I would have never asked before.
Hello Gabrielle,
ReplyDeleteGood job with your questions! It seems to be that you have learned from this course like I have and was able to apply to the interview, in comparison from the last interview. Keep up the good work!
