I ensured to create traffic throughout my blog, especially focusing on the labels. Each blog post had a label explaining what week it was from. I think this is helpful, but maybe not from a broad perspective. It would be more helpful with fellow classmates in particular to filter through search engines.
Keywords that were used were primarily the weeks each assignment was completed. The titles also can be helpful keywords, but primarily geared for the class as well.
I used different media sites like youtube and and soundcloud to upload different interviews or assignments that required videos. I think youtube is a great outlet to increase exposure because other users can subscribe to your page. That way, there can be exposure from both the blog and youtube. For my page in particular, different social media sites weren't pivotal in my exposure.
My most viral post was "What's Next". Some other posts came very close, maybe within one or two less views. But this may have been viewed the most because I feel that assignment required a lot of comments so others without the assignment completed were going through different pages to get credit.
My page ultimately made it to the first page! If you were to google the name of my blog, the links that came up all lead to different posts that were created through this blog.
Gabby,
ReplyDeleteI agree! I think that using labels and keywords can be extremely beneficial to get exposure on your blog. I also feel like my most viral post was because not many people did the assignment and they needed points for commenting, but hey, its just a bit difficult to get views on school assignments. Also, good for you for making it on google, I didn't have much luck in that regard, but feel free to check out my post here:

Hey Gabby!
ReplyDeleteNot sure how much the label thing helped out with our blogs, but it is cool to see that you made it to the first page! Also, I mostly relied upon youtube as well for my social media outlet. I didn't really see a big need to promote my blog on Facebook or Twitter so I just let YouTube do the job for me. Awesome job again on making it to the first page!
Check out my post if you get a chance:
